f you’re like me, the one task that doesn’t seem to get checked off if our to-do lists (besides going to the gym) is washing our makeup brushes. Sure, it’s recommended that we clean our brushes every 7-10 days, but do we do it? Probably not.
But, just a friendly reminder: Makeup experts say that germs and bacteria build up in the bristles and sponges that we put directly on our skin and can cause breakouts and irritations so it’s totally important to give them a deep cleanse often.
What you’ll need:
- 3 teaspoons gentle castile soap (or be resourceful and reduce waste by using a face wash you don’t love for your skin)
- 1/3 cup witch hazel
- 1 1/2 teaspoons coconut oil
- 3/4 cup distilled water
Mix all ingredients together and then thoroughly wash and rinse each brush. Then place them out to dry overnight. They should be ready to use in the morning!
