If you know me, you know that I love avocados! I like to start my morning with my go-to breakfast: a cup of coffee and avocado toast on rye bread. Avocados are virtually the only fruit that contains heart-healthy monounsaturated fat aka good fat! California Avocados are also naturally sodium-, sugar- and cholesterol-free.
But did you know that they’re not only a tasty treat but also great for your skin? Homemade Avocado Face Masks are are known for nourishing and revitalizing the skin. This fruit is packed with skin friendly minerals such as iron, calcium, potassium, copper, magnesium, etc., vitamins A, E, B and K and unsaturated fats that are known to sooth dry skin.
- One half of an avocado
- Three teaspoons of honey
- One teaspoon of Greek yogurt or almond milk
Step 1: Combine avocado, honey and vinegar in a mini food processor; process until smooth. (Alternatively, place in a small bowl; mash with a fork until smooth.)
Step 2: Apply a thin layer to clean, damp skin. Let dry, then rinse off and moisturize as desired. Oily skin types may not need additional moisturizer. This makes enough for 2-3 applications and should be used immediately.
